Protecting and Defending
Leviton’s broad range of high-performing GFCIs meet the residential and commercial/industrial market’s broad range of needs.
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) are essential safety devices that help protect people from dangerous electrical shocks caused by “ground faults” – e.g., faulty electrical wiring, inclement environmental conditions, or other hazardous circumstances. GFCIs shut off power almost instantly once a ground fault is detected to prevent serious injury.
The National Electrical Code® (NEC®) requires the installation of GFCIs in such residential areas as kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, workshops, basements, garages/carports, and outdoor areas such as pools, decks, and patios as well as in a range of commercial/industrial spaces where occupant-facing and/or mission-critical equipment is used.
Leviton’s high-performing SmartlockPro® and Lev-Lock® branded GFCIs fully support the market’s broad range of residential and commercial/industrial needs and include the following:
- Self-Test GFCI – Cutting off power in a fraction of a second if a ground-fault is detected, these GFCIs are required by the NEC in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, garages/carports, and pool areas.
- GFCI Combination USB -- Offering GFCI protection in combination with a pair of powerful USB ports for faster charging, use of this GFCI is code-compliant in kitchens, bathrooms, and anywhere GFCI protection is needed.
- Weather-Resistant GFCI -- Paired with a weather-resistant cover, this GFCI is designed for use in wet and damp outdoor locations such as decks, patios, and pool areas.

- GFCI with Audible Trip Alert – Alerting occupants to a tripped circuit via an audible alarm, this device is ideal for use in out-of-the-way or less-accessible spaces such as garages, basements, or large commercial kitchens.
- GFCI with Guide Light – Incorporating a built-in guidelight for use at night or in dark spaces, this GFCI is ideal for use in bathrooms.
- Combination GFCI/Switch (15 Amp only) -- Ideal in small kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms where a switch and GFCI are both needed but space is limited, this unit combines GFCI protection and a single pole switch in one device.
- Blank Face GFCI – Applications include spa or tub areas, providing the utmost safety for a dedicated branch circuit with a clean and unobtrusive appearance.
- Pilot Light GFCI -- Incorporating high-visibility LEDs that indicate power status, this device is ideal in poorly-lit or difficult-to-access settings such as storage areas.
- Pop-Up Floor Box with GFCI – With its sleek profile, recessed design, and ability to support a wide variety of flooring types, this GFCI is easily concealed when not in use and is ideal in open spaces like great rooms.
