Lighten Your Load
Lighting remains one of the largest uses of electricity in commercial spaces with over 38% of a typical business’ energy bill related to lighting. Commercial building owners are constantly looking for ways to save utility costs, and energy saving lighting controls is a great place to start.
With climbing energy costs, reducing energy consumption becomes a major concern, especially in the commercial space. |
|
Today, much of the design of new commercial construction as well as retrofit construction is focused on intelligent buildings and energy management controls allowing businesses and building owners to dramatically reduce energy consumption. The recent pandemic accelerated the adoption of smart controls to promote hands-free and touchless control of lighting and other building infrastructure including occupancy controls.
Controlling Your Lighting Load
Whether you are focused on new construction or retrofits, installing efficient lighting, and controlling lighting loads using intelligent controls are excellent ways to reduce utility costs for building owners. Installing LED fixtures and/or lamps, motion sensors for occupancy or vacancy control or timeclock control to turn lighting off when a space is vacant, local/personal dimming to allow occupants to reduce their own lighting load, Daylight harvesting to utilize natural ambient lighting to reduce artificial lighting loads, or receptacle controls all contribute to energy savings. |
Leviton is recognized for their advanced lighting and control systems that bring innovative design and next generation features to commercial applications. Designed to meet and exceed energy code requirements for IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and Title 24, Part 6, Leviton provides complete architectural lighting and energy management solutions that are scalable for any application. There are many options for controlling lighting in spaces or throughout a whole building, however few are as scalable, flexible, or as easy to install as wireless lighting controls. |

Leviton is continuing to expand and improve the Lumina RF Standalone Wireless Lighting Control solution. This solution is specifically designed to control a variety of load types in a room/space, tie in keypads and sensors, and is conveniently configured through the Lumina RF Standalone App available on iOS and Android.
System Overview
- Simple, scalable and highly flexible wireless lighting control solution for greater design freedom
- Provides extensive design options for both new construction and retrofits
- Control lamps, fixtures, and zones independently or in groups
- Room control and business logic contained in entry station. No Hub Required!
- Scalable wireless solution offers a comprehensive range of compatible hardware options making the Lumina RF Standalone solution an excellent fit for all applications
- Can be used to comply with IECC 2018, ASHRAE 90.1 2019, and Title 24 2019
How It Works
The wireless controls communicate over encrypted Zigbee wireless communication. The app communicated via Bluetooth LE for configuration and control.
- Every room needs a room controller. With Lumina RF Standalone, the good news is the room controller is a wallbox keypad, switch, or dimmer, so no additional components need to be added or installed. The Room Controller is the interface for the mobile app.
- Lighting loads are controlled via wallbox dimmers and switches or switched and dimmed wireless power packs. Load controls are enrolled in the system using the app.
- Receptacle loads are controlled by wireless receptacles, or a 20A wireless power pack to control a whole receptacle circuit. Load controls are enrolled in the system using the app.
- Occupancy sensors and photocells are battery powered and enrolled in the system using the app.
- Additional wallbox keypads, dimmers, and switches can be added for additional user control points.
Important Features
- Multi-location manual control of switching and dimming loads
- Lamp, fixture, and zone grouping
- Scene controls
- Occupancy/vacancy sensing
- Partial ON and Partial OFF
- Multi-zone daylight harvesting
- Receptacle control
- Over-the-Air (OTA) updates
- Fully configurable keypads
- No separate hub or gateway required
Once installed, this simple lighting control solution can easily be incorporated into your energy management plans for ongoing energy savings. For more information including a complete product selection guide, datasheets, and other collateral, please go to: Leviton.com/luminarf |
